“You must go on a long journey before you can really find out how wonderful home is.” - Tove Jansson, Comet in Moominland 1946
Join us on the 23rd of December to listen to ‘Comet in Moominland’ on BBC Radio 4!
Drama on 4 is coming to us once again with a Moominous radio production! They will be telling the story of ‘Comet in Moominland’, reuniting the stellar team that brought us ‘Moominland Midwinter’ on Christmas day in 2021. The fantastic novel by Tove Jansson has been dramatised by Robin Brooks with John Finnemore reprising his role as Moomintroll and guided by Samantha Bond’s wonderful narration.
In this fantastic adventure, young Moomintroll and his friend Sniff set off on a daring quest to find out what the strange and mysterious signs of a comet are all about. They meet new friends along the way, face perilous dangers and overcome their fears with bravery, ingenuity and friendship. It might be the end of the world, but there is always time amidst the chaos for some dancing and a cup or two of Palm wine!
Whether you're a longtime Moomin fan or discovering these beloved characters for the first time, this radio play promises to be a delightful journey. Mark your calendars and get ready for an extraordinary adventure!
