The cap is a waste non-valve of silicon ( "food grade") that makes the cup can be held upside down without spilling. The valve can be easily removed and washed. As the child grows, and no longer have a spill-free cup, the valve is removed so that the child can gradually work out to keep the mug right. Soon enough, you can remove the cover completely, the cup is as attractive to use without cover! Dishwasher in the upper shelf. Resistant to heat in microwave. (max 800W 1 min).
