Sinne saapuvat Nuuskamuikkunen, puuhakas Hemuli, pelokas Vilijonkka, yksinäinen homssulapsi, ikivanha Ruttuvaari ja Mymmeli, jota eivät turhat huolet paina. Mutta muumiperhe on lähtenyt eikä kukaan tiedä minne. Miten käy, kun Hemuli luulee ymmärtävänsä Muumipapan toiveita ja Vilijonkka yrittää muuttua Muumimammaksi? Kuinka uudesta tilanteesta selvitään - ja onko muuttuminen loppujen lopuksi edes kovin tärkeää?
